Pouch-Cels
The pouch cell is generally regarded as a "flexible" cell – not only, but primarily because of the aluminium and plastic composite foil housing.
The housing foils are insulatingly coated with polymers on the inside as well as on the outside. The advantages of the pouch cell are numerous and of course have to be weighted according to the application.
Prismatic cells
Prismatic cells consist of a solid, metallic housing in a cubic shape. The design-specific, large surface area enables good heat dissipation and the cells can be stacked to save space.
Shape cells
The form cell is in the broadest sense a design optimisation of the pouch cell in order to adapt it to the applications in the industrial and consumer electronics sector with an adapted shape.
Flexible cells
The flexible cell is also a subgroup of the pouch cell. The main difference lies in the design and the technological differences of the cell.
In the broadest sense, the flex cell is a design optimisation of the pouch cell to make it flexibly adaptable to applications in the consumer electronics sector.
